PatrolSync — Terms of Service
Effective date: 1 October 2026 Last updated: 1 October 2026
1. Who you are agreeing with
PatrolSync ("PatrolSync", "we", "us") is operated by PatrolSync LLC, a California limited liability company.
You can reach us at nrod@patrolsync.pro. That is our contact address for everything — support, billing questions, legal notices and privacy requests.
2. Accepting these Terms
You accept these Terms by ticking the box that says you accept them, when you create an account or when we ask you to accept an updated version.
If you subscribe to a paid plan, you will be asked to agree separately and specifically to the automatic renewal terms in section 9, before you pay. Those are two different agreements and we ask for them separately on purpose.
If you do not accept these Terms, do not use PatrolSync.
3. What PatrolSync is
PatrolSync is a study and training application for people preparing for, or going through, a California POST law enforcement academy. It provides practice exams, flashcards, scenario training, report-writing practice, legal reference material, fitness and PELLETB preparation, and related tools.
PatrolSync is a study aid. It is not a law enforcement agency, a POST provider, a legal service, a medical or fitness provider, or an employer.
Subject to these Terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use PatrolSync for your own lawful study. This license is solely for your personal, noncommercial study. It does not permit you to resell or share access, redistribute PatrolSync content, or use PatrolSync content to train another product or model.
4. Not affiliated with POST or any agency
PatrolSync is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST), any California law enforcement agency, or any academy.
Practice questions are our own. They do not reproduce, and do not represent, official POST examination content. Passing anything in PatrolSync does not mean you will pass any real examination, and failing anything here does not mean you will fail one.
5. The content is not legal advice
PatrolSync covers California criminal law, arrest, search and seizure, use of force and related subjects. All of it is educational.
Nothing in PatrolSync is legal advice, and nothing in it is a substitute for your agency's policy, your academy's instruction, your training officer, or the current text of the law. Law changes. Content that was accurate when written may not be accurate when you read it.
Before you act on anything in PatrolSync in the field, verify it against the official source and your agency's policy. You are responsible for what you do on duty.
6. How AI is used, stated accurately
Some PatrolSync material is created, assembled, summarized, evaluated or explained with the help of artificial intelligence.
Some of that material is reviewed by a person before you see it. Not all of it is. Where a library runs short, the app may generate material for you on the spot, and that material has not been individually reviewed by a human. Automated checks reduce the risk of error. They do not remove it.
AI-generated material can be confidently wrong. Treat everything here as practice material to be verified, not as authority.
Some of what you write — report-writing practice in particular — is sent to a third-party AI provider to be analyzed. The Privacy Policy explains what we do and do not know about who those providers are. See section 12 for what you must not put into it.
If you believe a question, card or explanation is incorrect, use the challenge feature in the app. We review challenges and correct or withdraw content that is wrong. We aim to look at challenges quickly, but we do not commit to a fixed turnaround.
7. Fitness content, and your health
PatrolSync includes physical fitness preparation and assessments.
This is general educational information. It is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, not treatment, and not individualized fitness instruction.
Exercise carries risk, including serious injury. Consider speaking to a qualified medical or fitness professional before starting any program, particularly if you have an injury, a medical condition, or have not trained in a while. Stop and seek help if you feel pain, faintness, chest discomfort, difficulty breathing, or anything else that concerns you.
Do not use PatrolSync for a medical emergency. Call 911.
8. Who may use PatrolSync
You must be 18 or older to create an account. PatrolSync is not intended for, and may not be used by, anyone under 18.
You must give accurate account information and keep it current.
Your account is yours alone
Your account is personal to you. You may not share your login, and you may not let anyone else use your account.
To enforce that, PatrolSync records a device identifier, device name, browser, operating system and sign-in times for each device you use.
- An account may be signed in on at most two devices at the same time. Exceeding that will cause sessions to be revoked automatically.
- Accounts showing patterns consistent with sharing are flagged for review, and may be suspended or terminated.
If you think a device was revoked in error, contact us.
9. Subscriptions, billing and automatic renewal
PatrolSync offers a free tier and a paid subscription, Officer Plus.
| Plan | Early Bird price | Regular price |
|---|---|---|
| Officer Plus, monthly | $12.99 per month | $16.99 per month |
| Officer Plus, annual | $99.99 per year | $129.99 per year |
Prices shown at checkout control over anything written here. Taxes and government charges, where they apply, are additional.
Automatic renewal — the part to read twice
Your subscription renews automatically. A monthly plan renews every month; an annual plan renews every year. It keeps renewing, and your payment method keeps being charged, until you cancel.
Before you pay, we show you the price, how often you will be charged, that it renews automatically until canceled, and how to cancel — and we ask you to agree to those renewal terms specifically. After you pay, we send you an email confirming the same things, with a link to cancel.
You can cancel at any time, online, from Settings. No email, no phone call, no explanation required.
Price protection if you subscribed at an Early Bird price
If you subscribed at an Early Bird price, that price will not be raised while your subscription to that same plan remains continuously active and we continue to offer that plan.
The limits on that, so it is unambiguous:
- It ends if your subscription lapses. If you cancel and later return, the then-current price applies. A failed payment does not end it while the payment retries are still running — only if those retries fail and paid access actually stops.
- It is tied to the plan you bought. Switch between monthly and annual and you pay whatever that plan costs at the time you switch.
- It does not cover taxes or government-imposed charges.
- If we permanently stop offering Officer Plus altogether, section 15 applies.
If we change prices
For anyone not on a protected Early Bird price, we may change subscription prices. We will send you a clear and conspicuous notice of the new price, and instructions for canceling, no less than 7 days and no more than 30 days before the new price takes effect. If you do not want to pay the new price, cancel before it takes effect.
Renewal notices and reminders
If you are on the annual plan, we will send you a renewal notice at least 15 days and no more than 45 days before it renews. The notice will identify Officer Plus, the renewal date, how often and how much you will be charged, and how to cancel.
On any plan, we will send you a reminder at least once a year identifying the subscription, how often and how much you are charged, and how to cancel.
Payment is handled by Stripe. Stripe processes payments on our behalf and receives your payment information under its own privacy notice. We may receive limited details such as card type, expiry, billing status and the last four digits. We never receive or store your full card number. PatrolSync remains responsible for providing the subscription you bought.
10. Canceling, and refunds
You can cancel at any time, from Settings, without contacting us.
When you cancel:
- Your subscription stops renewing.
- You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- After that, your account reverts to the free tier. Canceling is not deleting — your account and progress stay.
We do not refund time already paid for. Canceling partway through a period does not produce a partial refund, because you keep access for the rest of it.
This does not limit any right you have under California law or under your card network's rules, and it does not apply where we charged you in error — tell us and we will refund it.
The full policy is in the Refund and Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
11. What you may and may not do
You may use PatrolSync to study, for yourself.
You may not:
- share your account, or resell or redistribute access to it;
- copy, scrape, bulk-download or republish PatrolSync content, including questions, flashcards, scenarios and explanations;
- use PatrolSync content to build or train another product or model;
- attempt to break, probe or circumvent the service's security, its device limits, or its payment system;
- use PatrolSync to cheat on any real examination, or in any way your agency or academy forbids.
12. What you must never put into PatrolSync
This matters more here than in most apps, because many of our users have access to real law enforcement information.
Do not enter or upload:
- actual police reports, or any part of one
- criminal justice information, CLETS or NCIC data, or anything derived from them
- criminal history information, or DMV or other restricted records
- information about an active investigation
- identifying information about a real victim, witness, suspect or arrestee
- medical information about any real person
- evidence, or photographs of evidence
- agency credentials, passwords or access codes
- anything your agency's policy or any law restricts
Use fictional or fully de-identified facts in training exercises.
Merely changing a name or a date may not be enough. If the person or the incident could still reasonably be recognized — because it was unusual, local, recent or widely reported — it is not de-identified. Do not base an exercise on a real incident unless every identifying and uniquely recognizable detail has been removed or materially altered.
PatrolSync is not approved or certified for CJIS or CLETS information. We have not undergone the security review or put in place the contractual arrangements that would allow it. Putting such information into PatrolSync may breach your agency's policy and may be unlawful.
We may remove anything that breaks these rules, and may suspend or terminate an account that does.
13. Things you post
Some parts of PatrolSync let you write things — bodycam video comments, content challenges, support messages, custom flashcards, report-writing practice.
You keep ownership of what you write. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process and display it as reasonably necessary to run, secure, moderate and improve PatrolSync. That license extends to the service providers who process it for us, including the AI providers used where a feature involves AI analysis.
We do not intentionally provide what you write to anyone for the purpose of training general-purpose AI models. Our platform and AI providers process submissions under their own business terms. The Privacy Policy explains, plainly, the limits of what we have been able to verify about those providers.
By posting, you confirm you have the right to post it.
Bodycam comments are visible to other users, along with your username. Private exercises — your report practice, your exam answers, your flashcard progress — are not made public.
If you send us feedback or a correction, we may use it to improve PatrolSync without owing you anything for it.
Deleting content removes it from the service. Copies may persist in routine backups for a period before being overwritten.
Comments may be reviewed automatically and by a human moderator.
14. Our content
The questions, cards, scenarios, explanations, reference material, software, design and branding in PatrolSync belong to us or our licensors. Your subscription buys access, not ownership.
We do not claim ownership of statutes, judicial opinions, or other material that is in the public domain. Certain third-party and government materials may remain subject to their owners' rights or applicable use restrictions. What is ours is our original explanations, our questions, and the selection, arrangement and presentation of it all.
Some material, including bodycam videos and external links, comes from third parties and remains subject to their own terms. Including it does not mean we endorse it or control its accuracy or availability.
15. Availability, and changes to the service
We try to keep PatrolSync running, but we do not promise it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw features.
If we permanently remove a significant feature from a paid plan during a period you have paid for, you may ask us for a refund of the unused portion, and we will give it. By "significant feature" we mean a named part of the product being withdrawn — the Scenario Simulator, the Report Trainer, Mock POST Exams and so on. Not a redesign, a rename, content being updated or corrected, or an individual question or card being withdrawn.
16. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent the law allows, PatrolSync is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the content is accurate, current or complete, or that it will help you pass anything.
17. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, or loss of employment or advancement.
- Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or $100.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, violation of law, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
18. Suspension and termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion is permanent — see the Privacy Policy for what is deleted and what is kept.
Deleting your account also cancels your subscription immediately. Billing stops at once. Deletion does not produce a refund for the unused part of the current period, and paid access ends at deletion rather than running to the end of the period. If you want to keep access until the period ends, cancel instead of deleting.
We may suspend or end your account:
- immediately, for unlawful activity, a security threat, payment fraud, account sharing, or a serious breach of section 12;
- after notice and a reasonable chance to put it right, for less serious breaches, where it is reasonable to do so;
- if we are required to by law, or if we stop offering the service.
If we end a paid account for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund the unused portion. If we end it for a serious breach, we will not.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms.
For minor changes, we will post the updated version with a new date.
For changes that materially affect what you pay, your liability, your rights in what you post, how disputes are handled, or your privacy consents, we will ask you to accept the new version before you continue — not simply rely on you carrying on using the app. Changes to automatic renewal terms will be notified separately, in a form you can keep, with cancellation instructions.
20. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
21. Disputes
If something goes wrong, email nrod@patrolsync.pro first and describe the problem and what you want. Most things are fixable in an email, and it is faster than anything else either of us could do.
Except where applicable law permits or requires a different venue, disputes that are not brought in small claims court will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California, and we both consent to that venue. Either of us may bring a qualifying claim in small claims court.
Nothing here waives any right you have under California consumer law that cannot be waived.
22. Everything else
If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. Our not enforcing something once does not waive it.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, the Refund and Cancellation Policy and the disclosures shown to you at checkout, are the whole agreement between us about PatrolSync.
